We had a wonderful Sunday. We slept late and spent the morning drinking coffee and reading the newspaper. We particularly enjoyed Thomas Heath’s column, Value Added in The Washington Post, The Dollars and Cents of Treating Cats and Dogs. We learned about a big animal hospital called SouthPaws in Fairfax County, Virginia. We were sad to read that business at the hospital is down because of the economy. Many pet owners are spending less on veterinarian services. As much as we do not enjoy visiting the vet, we understand it’s important to animals’ health and well-being. So, we’re concerned about all the cats and dogs who are not getting adequate health care.
Our mommy said it’s expensive to take care of pets, but, we’re worth it. She mumbled something about the vet and it’s time for our annual check up. We have a sneaky suspicion that we’re getting our shots this week. If only we knew which day so we can hide.
